"Rank" conversation

Payton and I had the following conversation yesterday.

Payton: "Mom, are you a deputy sheriff?"

Me: "Yes."

Payton: " Nuh-uh. You're a lieutenant."

Me: "I'm both. Everyone starts out as deputy. Then if you do a good job as a deputy, you might get promoted to corporal. If you do a good job as corporal, you might get promoted to sergeant. If you do a good job as sergeant, you might get promoted to lieutenant. If you do a good job as lieutenant, you might get promoted to captain."

Payton: "You keep trying hard, Mom. You'll get to captain someday."

This was said with a totally serious tone, completely straight face. What a funny kid! Hopefully he's psychic.

Payton's New House Song

Payton is a big fan of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. He loves when they "move that bus!" He decided he needs a reaction when he sees his new house (that we are in the process of building). So this is it.

Sibling Rivalry?

A popular game with Payton and Tig is to play fetch. It's not your normal game of fetch, though. I throw the ball, and Payton and Tig race to see who can get it first and bring it back to me.
